AMAZING SHOW!  With a kakaka-CRUSHING lineup, my primary interest was to see new, Symphonic Death Metal Band; Fleshgod Apocalypse.  Hailing all the way from Italy, they tore apart the stage and truly inspired me.  It is always interesting to hear new (if there is such a thing) styles of music incorporating epic-classical symphonies alongside blasting brutality.  It was honor sharing some of Canada’s own soundtrack metal with an Amplitusion-Darth Brutalus Steelbook.

Below is a picture with bassist and falsetto vocalist, Paolo Rossi from Fleshgod.  Champion of a guy to speak with, and his vocals are distinct giving Fleshgod a unique sound.  His vocals really purge my ICS Vortex (ex-Dimmu Borgir: Norway) need; I was sure to express that to him.  You can hear him here on one of my favorite tracks, “Thru Our Scars” at 1:45 in the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXkhl52B9Dc  As a metal musician, it is always inspiring to see other artists combine classical music to the production; nothing like it for the mind and does something truly magical to the soul.  Additionally, just ANOTHER component to introduce new fans to metal.

Fleshgod Apocalypse will be returning to tour with Decapitated in Sept/Oct 2011 so I HIGHLY recommend checking them out.  Show some support at http://www.myspace.com/fleshgodapocalypse
